The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, chaired the weekly session of the Council of Ministers held today in Jeddah, during which the Cabinet reviewed a number of key regional, international, and domestic developments.
🤝 Saudi Diplomacy in Motion: Deepening Strategic Ties
The Cabinet was briefed on recent diplomatic communications and official visits between the Kingdom and friendly nations aimed at strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation across various sectors.
In this context, the Cabinet praised the outcomes of the recent Saudi delegation’s visit to the Syrian Arab Republic, which was conducted under the directives of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and emphasized the Kingdom’s steadfast support for Syria’s path to economic recovery.
Key highlights of the visit included:
Signing of 47 investment agreements worth nearly SAR 24 billion.
Announcement of a joint business council to strengthen private sector collaboration.
🇸🇦🇫🇷 Clear Support for the Palestinian Cause… and French Recognition Welcomed
The Cabinet expressed hope that the High-Level International Conference on Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Issue – co-hosted by the Kingdom and France – would:
Accelerate global recognition of the State of Palestine.
Establish a consensus-based path toward the two-state solution.
Reinforce regional and international security and stability.
The Cabinet also welcomed President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement of France’s intent to recognize the State of Palestine, calling on other nations to take similar steps in support of peace and Palestinian rights.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s call to impose sovereignty over the occupied West Bank and Jordan Valley, describing it as a direct threat to peace efforts and a continuation of destructive policies that violate international law and UN resolutions.
🌍 Saudi Presence on the Global Stage… Vision 2030 in the Spotlight
The Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom’s participation in the UN High-Level Political Forum, which highlighted:
Saudi Arabia’s position as the fastest advancing G20 nation in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) over the past decade.
Its significant contributions to global prosperity through pioneering international initiatives.
♻️ Environmental Leadership Reaffirmed
The Cabinet commended recent developments in climate innovation, including the launch of a pilot unit for Direct Air Carbon Capture (DAC) in Riyadh, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s climate ambitions and its leadership in carbon circular economy technologies, aligned with Vision 2030.

The Cabinet approved a series of resolutions and agreements, including:
International Agreements:
MoU in financial cooperation with Morocco.
MoU in mineral resources with Djibouti.
Draft health cooperation MoU with Nicaragua.
Scientific and educational cooperation with UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education.
Draft MoU in internal auditing and governance with China.
Organizational & Legal Decisions:
Approval of the National Statistics Law.
Restructuring of the Board of Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies.
Approval of the final account of King Fahd National Library for a previous fiscal year.
Appointments & Promotions:
Khalid Al-Bahli appointed as Deputy Governor of Al-Qassim (15th rank).
Dr. Attallah bin Zaid promoted to Ambassador (Foreign Ministry).
Waleed Al-Samail promoted to Minister Plenipotentiary (Foreign Ministry).
Salah Baseef promoted to Computer Engineering Advisor (Ministry of Hajj).
Dr. Abdulkhaleq Al-Zahrani appointed Educational Methods Advisor (Ministry of Education).

The Cabinet also reviewed several annual reports, including those from:
