Riyadh to Host GSR25: Shaping the Future of Global Digital Regulation

Saudi Arabia, represented by the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST), will host the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR25) in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), from 31 August to 3 September 2025 in Riyadh, under the theme:
"Regulation for Sustainable Digital Development."
The event will bring together ministers, regulatory leaders, policymakers, and tech stakeholders from over 190 countries.
Eng. Haitham AlOhali, Governor of CST, affirmed that hosting GSR25 reflects the Kingdom’s growing role as a global hub for digital dialogue and innovation-driven regulation.
Doreen Bogdan, ITU Secretary-General, hailed GSR as a platform that has shaped global digital policy over the past 25 years—from mobile adoption to AI revolutions—urging continued efforts to connect the unconnected and build digital trust.
Dr. Cosmas Zavazava, Director of ITU’s Telecommunication Development Bureau, emphasized that GSR25 will address today’s regulatory challenges through high-level, interactive sessions, thanking CST for hosting the milestone event.
