Etidal and Telegram… Over 200 Million Pieces of Extremist Content Removed

In a new milestone highlighting Saudi Arabia’s leadership in combating digital extremism, the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal) announced the removal of 30,846,485 extremist materials during the second quarter of 2025, as part of its ongoing partnership with Telegram.
Additionally, 1,254 extremist channels were shut down in the same period, reaffirming the effectiveness of proactive monitoring and the importance of tech-sector collaboration in curbing hate speech.
Since the partnership began in February 2022 through the end of June 2025, the cumulative efforts have led to:
207,604,942 extremist materials removed
17,455 extremist channels shut down
