The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved a new record in the expenditure of visitors coming to the kingdom from abroad during the year 2023, according to the Saudi central bank's preliminary data on the travel item in the balance of payments with an expenditure of up to 135 billion riyals, and this figure is the highest in the history of the kingdom, in terms of the expenditure of visitors coming from abroad, and this expenditure represents a growth rate of 42.8% compared to 2022.
The kingdom received wide international praise from the World Tourism Organization "UN Tourism" and the World Travel and Tourism Council" WTTC " for reaching more than 100 million tourists from home and abroad during the year 2023, where the two organizations praised the great efforts witnessed by the tourism sector in the kingdom.
