The Ministry of tourism in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the achievement of a new record in the spending of visitors coming from abroad, according to balance of payments data issued by the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia. The total spending of visitors amounted to more than 100 billion riyals for the first three quarters of 2023.

This figure also achieved a surplus in the travel item data in the balance of payments, where the surplus was estimated until the end of the third quarter of 2023 by about 37.8 billion riyals, with a growth rate of 72% compared to the surplus in 2022 for the same period.

These achievements come at a time when tourism in the kingdom has achieved full recovery, as the percentage of recovery of the tourism sector in the kingdom has jumped to 150% compared to the levels before the "covid-19" pandemic, in which various tourist destinations witnessed an increase in the number of visitors from home and abroad.

Reports issued by the World Tourism Organization revealed that the Kingdom topped the group of twenty countries in the growth rate of the number of tourist arrivals during the first three quarters of 2023. The kingdom also came in second place among the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world.
