The captain of the Saudi club Al-Nasr, the star Cristiano Ronaldo, was keen to send a message to football stars before the winter transfer window opens next January.

"I spoke before and said that the Saudi league will be one of the 5 strongest leagues in the world, and now I say that the Rushen League is watched by everyone in the world," Ronaldo said during remarks to the Saudi SSC Sports Network after his team's victory over Al-Taawon 4-1 on Saturday in the 19th round of the Saudi league.

He added:"the whole world is following the league here, and I advise the elite players of the world to come to the Saudi league, and share the fun of this competition with us".

The 38-year-old Ronaldo became the top scorer of the world in 2023 with 54 goals, two goals ahead of the Englishman Harry Kane, the Bayern Munich striker, and the Frenchman Kylian Mbappe, the Paris Saint-Germain star.

Ronaldo is also the top scorer of the Saudi league after reaching the 20th goal .
