The Center for Advanced Materials and nanoscale research at Najran University has registered 7 patents internationally in the fields of synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials, advanced materials design, bio-nano applications, energy solutions and environmental remediation.

The director of the Center for Advanced Materials and nanoscale research at the University, Dr. jree Saeed Al-qathami, explained that the center is active in scientific research in the fields of materials science, chemistry, physics, nanotechnology, engineering and environmental sciences, and the researchers contributed to the University obtaining the ninth level in the British "Nature" Index of the quality of scientific research for 2021, for publishing two researches in the leading scientific journals in the evaluation list.

He pointed out that he ranked four researchers from the center among the Stanford list of the best 2% of the world's scientists for 2023, in addition to the center's funding more than 30 research projects for researchers from Najran University and Saudi and international universities, and this funding resulted in more than 150 research papers, and also succeeded in obtaining two international cooperation projects in 2019 funded for three years by the agency for research and innovation at the Ministry of Education.

Al-Quthami stressed that the center is equipped with modern scientific equipment required for the production, analysis and measurement of nanomaterials, and contains a clean room laboratory equipped with modern and advanced devices for manufacturing nanomaterials and measuring their properties.
