Saudi Arabia wins the hosting of Expo 2030 in Riyadh
The kingdom of Saudi Arabia won on Tuesday to host the expo 2030 exhibition in Riyadh after the Saudi bid surpassed the Italian cities of Rome and Busan, South Korea, after the secret ballot following the meeting of the 173rd General Assembly of the International Bureau of exhibitions in the French capital Paris.
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, congratulated the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the occasion of Saudi Arabia's victory in hosting Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
This came after the International Bureau of exhibitions announced, on Tuesday, the victory of the kingdom's file to host the exhibition during the period from October 2030 to March 2031, and His Highness expressed his thanks to the countries that voted for the kingdom's file, as well as to the two competing countries.
His Highness The Crown Prince said on this occasion: "the kingdom's victory in hosting Expo 2030 comes as a consolidation of its leading and pivotal role and the international trust it enjoys, which makes it an ideal destination to host the most prominent international forums, as Expo is one of them".
His Highness reiterated the kingdom's determination to provide an exceptional and unprecedented version in the history of establishing this international forum with the highest levels of innovation, and to contribute to playing an active and positive role for a bright tomorrow for humanity by providing a global platform that harnesses the latest technologies and gathers the brightest minds in order to optimally invest opportunities and put forward solutions to the challenges facing our planet today.
His Highness said:"hosting Expo 2030 will coincide with the year of the culmination of the goals and plans of Saudi Vision 2030, as the exhibition is a great opportunity to share with the world the lessons learned from the unprecedented transformation journey.
His Highness The Crown Prince stressed that Riyadh is ready to embrace the world at Expo 2030, God willing, and fulfill the commitments contained in the dossier for the participating countries to achieve the main theme of the exhibition "era of change: together we look forward to the future", and its sub-themes "a better tomorrow, climate action, prosperity for all", and harnessing all potentials.
Riyadh is distinguished as the capital of a country with a strategic and important geographical location, as it is an important bridge connecting the continents with each other, which makes it an attractive destination for the most prominent international forums, Global Investments and visits, and a gateway to the world.
The file of the kingdom's candidacy to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh has received the great and direct support of His Royal Highness The Crown Prince and Prime Minister-May God protect him-starting from the announcement of the kingdom on October 29, 2021 of its official application to the International Bureau of exhibitions BIE (the organizing body of the World Expo).
It is worth mentioning that the International Bureau of exhibitions announced the victory of the kingdom's file for hosting after a secret ballot during the meeting of the General Assembly of the bureau (173), in Paris, today, where the kingdom's file (119) votes from member states, and two cities competed for hosting besides Riyadh: Busan South Korea, and Rome Italy.
International expos have been held since 1851, and constitute the largest global platform for presenting the latest achievements and technologies, promoting international cooperation in economic development, trade, Arts and culture, and the dissemination of Science and technology.
The Saudi Ministry of information is holding the fifth new international edition of the media oasis in Paris, in conjunction with the kingdom's participation in the 173rd General Assembly meeting to select the host country for Expo 2030, during the period from 26 to 28 November 2023.
The ministry opened this edition on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the "pavilion" hall in Vendome square.
The ministry aims to establish the "media Oasis", which will last until November 28, 2023, to highlight the cultural and developmental transformations that the kingdom is witnessing in all vital and diverse fields, and to review the most important major projects in the kingdom, through exhibitions held on the area of the oasis for a number of institutions and government and private entities, provide interactive presentations with modern methods and advanced technologies, tell the story of the glory of Man and place, and answer the questions of guests and media professionals.
The "media oasis", located in Paris, provides the necessary media support to various international media outlets, and the investment of the presence of many international media professionals to convey the true and correct image of these major projects, distributed in all regions and destinations of the Kingdom, and reach recipients around the world.
The "media Oasis" is held on an area of (1200) square meters, and includes (9) areas; namely:
Registration Area, Saudi hospitality, communication, Oasis exhibition, Oasis Valley, treasures of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh projects 2030, Oasis Council, and memorial photo area.
13 partners from the following entities participate in the Oasis: Saudi Tourism Authority, Ministry of sports, Saudi data and artificial intelligence authority, Asir Region Development Authority, NEOM project, Diriyah company, King Salman Park project, sports track project, Green Riyadh project, Riyadh Art Art Project, New Square project, Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, and the Saudi treasures initiative.
The "media Oasis" is one of the new initiatives launched by the Ministry of information in an effort to develop the concept of media coverage, keep pace with national events and major events locally and internationally, and employ modern technology in reviewing major national projects and initiatives for all visitors.
