The fourth edition of the Formula 1 Saudi Grand Prix will be held at the Jeddah Corniche circuit - March 7
The organizing committee of the Formula 1 World Championship announced today, Thursday, the preliminary schedule of the Formula 1 World Championship season for 2024; it will witness 24 races, starting on March 2 with the Bahrain Grand Prix, and concluding with the Emirates Grand Prix on the eighth of December.
It was decided to hold the fourth edition of the Saudi Grand Prix 2024 on the Jeddah Corniche circuit, during the period from 7 to 9 March (March) to avoid its possible conflict with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan from next year 1445 Ah.
The schedule has undergone several changes, with the Las Vegas Grand Prix scheduled for November 18, the Japanese Grand Prix in April, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in September, and the Qatar Grand Prix moved from October to December.
The president of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), Mohammed bin Sulayem, stressed that this comes within the framework of the Federation's efforts to make the global scene of Formula 1 racing more efficient in terms of environmental sustainability and more accessible to race organizers and participating teams who are constantly traveling in light of devoting much of their time to the sport of Formula 1 racing, pointing out that the traditional summer vacation period will still be extended to 3 weeks in August, during which drivers get an additional three-week break between September and October.
For his part, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, chairman of the Saudi automobile and Motorcycle Federation and the Saudi motorsport company, stressed that everyone at the Saudi motorsport company and the federation is looking forward to the return of the Formula 1 race to the Jeddah Corniche circuit through the Saudi Formula 1 Grand Prix for the fourth time from March 7 to 9 next year.
His Highness added, " Jeddah Corniche circuit continues to assert its worth as one of the most difficult circuits on the Formula 1 calendar, where over the past three seasons it has witnessed outstanding and exciting races, and we will strive to provide an integrated program of activities that suit all family members, throughout the three days of racing, inside and outside the racing circuit . His Highness looks forward to welcoming Formula 1 teams, drivers and the public back to Jeddah for the 2024 Saudi Formula 1 Grand Prix.
It is noteworthy that the fourth edition of the Saudi Formula 1 Grand Prix will witness a new format for the weekend, as part of today's announcement of the preliminary schedule of the Formula 1 World Championship season for 2024, where the weekend in Jeddah will be the second of the season again, when the Championship will be wide open for everyone to enjoy the exciting race under floodlights on the picturesque shores of the Red Sea.
