The General Authority of Saudi ports announced today, Monday, June 12, 2023, that the company" Maersk " has expanded its operational and logistics business in the kingdom, by adding the most important main shipping services that connect Jeddah Islamic Port to three major continents, Asia, Europe and Africa, in order to improve the investment environment, serve investors, enable them to grow and expand regionally and internationally, and turn the kingdom into a leading destination for investments in the world.
Maersk has added two new shipping services: "AE12" and"AE7" to Jeddah Islamic Port as a pivotal and main port for these new services; and to complement the development of connecting global shipping lines to the ports of the kingdom, which maximizes the vital role of the maritime sector in the kingdom.
The new shipping service "AE7", which was launched in early June 2023, connects Jeddah Islamic Port with 15 ports globally, namely: Ningbo Zhoushan, Shanghai, Nansha, Yantian in China, Tanjung pilibas in Malaysia, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Tangier in Morocco, Felixstowe in the UK, Hamburg in Germany, Antwerp in Belgium, London Gateway, Le Havre in France, Salalah in Oman, Khalifa in Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali Dubai, with a number of 12 vessels, with a capacity of 18 thousand containers.
The "AE12" service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with 13 global ports, including the ports of southern Europe, Africa, and East Asia with 12 ships, with a capacity of 15 thousand containers.
