The Saline Water Conversion Corporation shared its opportunities and technologies to enhance the circular carbon economy approach with its four pillars of reducing, reusing, recycling, and removing, during its participation in the “Desalination and Water Reuse Solutions” Conference organized by the International Development Association in Sydney, Australia. It ran from October 9 to October 13.

As a leader in the desalination industry, “SWCC” presented its pioneering experience in enhancing water supply security and improving resource management and utilization within the Conference's main themes, leading international trends in technology development and innovative solutions.

The opening speech delivered by Dr. Ahmed Al-Amoudi on behalf of His Excellency Governor of “SWCC” confirmed: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a set of measures, has achieved to ensure the security and sustainability of the water supply to enhance the targeted economic transformation within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

In a related context, “SWCC” shared its most visible solutions through innovative technologies that have enhanced its position in the industry, through ZLD's Zero Liquid Discharge Technique for the extraction and investment of precious metals for industrial and agricultural purposes.

It also reviews its cumulative experience in designing, constructing, and operating the world's first commercial desalinated water Plant, using Nano technologies, extracting magnesium from brine water at a rate of up to 85%, raising the concentration of magnesium from 1400 1/mg to 7000 1/mg and increasing reverse osmosis film extraction from 40% to 53%.

In addition to the latest research experiments to extract high-purity solid magnesium hydroxide from brine, equivalent to 99 percent, the participation supports the role of the desalination industry in water security worldwide, highlights the Kingdom's initiatives in the field, and explores investment opportunities.
