Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dec. 12, 2023 — The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM) unveiled the details of the highly anticipated third edition of the Future Minerals Forum (FMF) in a press conference held today at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center. Scheduled for January 9th-11th, the event is poised to bring together over 70 countries and key industry players to discuss and shape the future of the global minerals sector.

H.E. the Vice Minister for Mining Affairs, Khalid Al-Mudaifer, expressed optimism about the upcoming Ministerial Roundtable and FMF 2024, emphasizing their role as strategic platforms with a significant global impact. Al-Mudaifer highlighted the FMF's unique distinction as the host of the only Ministerial Roundtable in the industry, bringing together governments to address crucial issues and drive tangible action.

The Ministerial Roundtable on January 9th will feature representation from government ministers and high-ranking officials from more than 70 countries. In a first for the FMF, a Geological Survey Leaders meeting will run concurrently, facilitating discussions on key mineral issues in the Super Region.

Following the Roundtable, the two-day Forum will host 250 key speakers in 75 sessions, with 90% of them being CEOs of major industry players. Al-Mudaifer stressed the forum's commitment to supporting the energy transition and building responsible, resilient minerals value chains in the Super Region of Africa, Western and Central Asia.

With a focus on Saudi Arabia's leadership in global energy supply, the conference acknowledged the Kingdom's pivotal role in fostering resilient value chains for clean energy solutions. The Kingdom's potential to become an international hub for the production and processing of green minerals was underlined, supported by the efforts of the Manara Minerals Company, a global investor in mining assets.

As the minerals industry plays a crucial role in the energy transition, Al-Mudaifer emphasized the importance of minerals and their role in achieving sustainable energy solutions. The FMF 2024 aims to further solidify Saudi Arabia's position as a key player in the global minerals landscape.
