Flynas explores opportunities to operate electric aircraft in Saudi Arabia

Flynas, the National Air Carrier, and Eve Air Mobility announced today, Thursday, November 30, 2023, the signing of a memorandum of understanding to explore the future operation of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It is planned that the parties will discuss the possibility of starting operations of electric helicopters in Riyadh and Jeddah by 2026.
Flynas CEO and managing director Bandar Al Muhanna expressed his pleasure to explore sustainable solutions with Evair mobility as a leading company in this field, in line with flynas ' strategy to adopt initiatives with a sustainable impact on the environment, society and the economy, in line with the national goals to neutralize greenhouse gas emissions by 2060.

The agreement will contribute to strengthening the aviation industry in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia by building and supporting the future of the local system of electric flights, as well as achieving the sustainability goals of Vision 2030 and ambitious goals in the aviation sector.
Flynas operates more than 1,500 flights a week to more than 70 domestic and international destinations. This collaborative effort between Efe and flynas, and the introduction of electric aircraft flights to Saudi Arabia, will provide another option for intra-city mobility while emphasizing the commitment of both companies to shape the future of electric aviation and provide efficient, safe and sustainable transportation in the region.
