HUMAIN, an artificial intelligence company owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has awarded a SAR 1.8 billion contract for the design and construction of an AI-dedicated data center to Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS).

MIS announced in a disclosure to the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) on 23 December that the project value exceeds 155% of its total revenues for 2024 (including VAT). The company expects the contract to be formally signed on 15 February 2026, confirming that there are no related parties involved.

The award coincides with a memorandum of understanding signed on 18 December between HUMAIN and Saudi Telecom Company (stc) to establish a joint venture through stc’s data center subsidiary, Center3, aimed at developing and operating AI-focused data centers across Saudi Arabia. The project targets advanced infrastructure with an operational capacity of up to 1 gigawatt, starting from 250 megawatts, in line with contractual commitments to clients. Under the current structure, HUMAIN holds 51% of the joint venture, while stc owns 49%.

HUMAIN was launched to develop and manage advanced AI solutions and to lead investment and development efforts in the sector. The company aims to build a smart, integrated digital ecosystem encompassing next-generation data centers, cloud computing, innovative AI models, and advanced applications that support the growth of the digital economy across strategic sectors such as energy, healthcare, industry, and financial services.

The company is also working on developing one of the most advanced Arabic large language models (LLMs), alongside next-generation data centers and cloud infrastructure, opening new horizons for enriching Arabic digital content and positioning Saudi Arabia as a regional and global leader in AI capabilities and applications.

HUMAIN’s operations are built around four core pillars: scalable AI applications and solutions; culturally and linguistically aligned large language models; secure data platforms providing advanced analytics to support decision-making; and robust cloud and data center infrastructure offering secure storage, ultra-high-speed data transfer, and flexible environments for model training and data analysis.

The project reflects Saudi Arabia’s accelerating investments in artificial intelligence and its broader ambition to cement its position as a global hub for the digital economy and innovation through local and international partnerships that attract capital, talent, and advanced expertise, while building sustainable national capabilities.
