✈️ New Abha Airport… A Cultural Landmark Elevating Asir’s Identity to Global Heights

With an architectural design inspired by the historic Rijal Alma‘a Village, the New Abha Airport embodies the cultural identity of the Asir region and opens new horizons for tourism and logistics development in Saudi Arabia. The project aligns with the strategic vision led by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

🏛️ Architecture Reflecting Heritage
The airport’s design showcases Asir’s heritage through stone walls, natural elements, and the creative use of sunlight, signed by the world-renowned architectural firm Norman Foster, offering a visually captivating and culturally rich experience for travelers.

🌍 A Vision Connecting Roots to the Future
The terminal spans 65,000 square meters and will boost the airport’s annual passenger capacity from 1.3 million to 13 million travelers, equipped with new boarding bridges, self-service facilities, and high-capacity parking. This will enhance Asir’s connectivity to domestic, regional, and global destinations.

🛫 A Sustainable Development Gateway
The project represents a key pillar of the Greater Asir Development Program and is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing investment in tourism and infrastructure, focusing on sustainability and innovative engineering to create a modern gateway to southern Saudi Arabia.

📅 Planned Opening:
The first phase is scheduled for completion by 2028, marking the beginning of a new era where Asir is set to become one of the Middle East’s most prominent tourism destinations.
