الشارقة، 14 مارس 2024: ترسيخاً لحضور المحتوى الإبداعي الإماراتي ضمن المحافل الثقافية الدولية، وسعياً نحو تسهيل نمو وازدهار أعمال النشر في دولة الإمارات، تشارك «جمعية الناشرين الإماراتيين» من جديد في نسخة هذا العام من «معرض لندن للكتاب» الذي انطلق في العاصمة البريطانية في 12 مارس الجاري ويستمر إلى 14 منه، ممثِّلةً نخبة من أبرز دور النشر الإماراتية.
تستضيف الجمعية تحت مظلة جناحها في هذا المعرض الرائد عالمياً وفداً يجمع ممثّلين عن 5 دور نشر محليّة؛ تضم: مجموعة كلمات، وسدرة للنشر والتوزيع، ودريم ووركس، وعصفورة، ودار الثقافة للنشر. وعبر هذه المشاركة، تتيح الجمعية لتلك الدور منصةً قيِّمة لتوسيع قنوات تسويق إصداراتها واستكشاف فرص بيع وشراء حقوق التداول والترجمة، وتبادل الرؤى مع خبراء الصناعة حول مستقبل النشر، وذلك ضمن جهودها الرامية إلى فتح آفاق جديدة لإثراء مشهد النشر والترجمة في الدولة.
ويزدان جناح الجمعية هذا العام بمجموعة مميزة من أحدث الإصدارات التي أنتجتها العقول المبدعة في الإمارات، والتي تغطي طيفاً واسعاً من حقول الأدب والعلوم والمعرفة، منها باقة غنية من الكتب والقصص المصوّرة المخصصة للأطفال واليافعين؛ بعضها يختص بالتعليم المبكّر، وبعضها يقدم التشويق والمغامرة، والبعض الآخر يجوب رحاب الخيال العلمي؛ فضلاً عن الروايات التي تبحث في التاريخ والفنون والسير الذاتية، والكتب المخصّصة للتطوير الذاتي وفنون اللغة والعلوم الاجتماعية والسفر، وغيرها، ما يلبّي شتّى أذواق ومختلف أعمار القرّاء في العاصمة البريطانية.
وحول مشاركة جمعية الناشرين الإماراتيين في المعرض، قال راشد الكوس، المدير التنفيذي لجمعية الناشرين الإماراتيين: "يشكل معرض لندن للكتاب محطة مهمة في أجندة فعالياتنا، ونحرص على المشاركة فيه عاماً بعد عام. ويمثّل هذا المعرض العالمي المرموق منصة سنوية توفر تجارب ثرية للناشر الإماراتي ولقاءات مباشرة مع متخصصين في مجال النشر؛ للتفاوض على الحقوق وبيع وتوزيع المحتوى عبر مختلف الوسائط المطبوعة والمسموعة والمرئية والقنوات الرقمية، ما يسهم في تلبية طموحاته في وضع بصمته المميزة في مسيرة صناعة النشر العالمية".
وأضاف: "في هذا الإطار، تشمل جهود الجمعية الموجَّهة لدعم الناشرين المشاركين على مدار المعرض تسهيل عقد الجلسات التوفيقية وترتيب الاجتماعات بينهم وبين الناشرين الدوليين المهتمّين باستكشاف السوق الإماراتية، حيث يُعَدُّ المعرض من أكبر أسواق الكتب عالمياً، ويتيح أمامهم فرصة مهمة للتواصل مع أكثر من 25 ألف متخصص في مجال النشر من أنحاء العالم. إلى جانب تقديم المساعدة على صعيد استثمار فرص التعاون المتاحة في مجال حقوق التداول وخدمات الترجمة".
وتعكس مشاركة جمعية الناشرين الإماراتيين في مثل هذه المعارض التزامها بدعم الناشرين الإماراتيين وزيادة حضورهم في سوق النشر العالمي. كما تشكّل جزءاً من مساعيها الرامية إلى دعم الاقتصاد الإبداعي في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، والترويج الفعّال للأدب الإماراتي في جميع أنحاء العالم.
EPA Pioneers Emirati Publishing Scene at London Book Fair
Sharjah, 14 March 2024: Seeking to expand the visibility of Emirati creative content on the global stage and nurturing the development of the UAE publishing industry, the Emirates Publishers Association is returning to this year’s London Book Fair taking place from 12 – 14 March, showcasing leading Emirati publishing houses.
At this esteemed exhibition, the association’s pavilion will host a delegation comprising representatives from five local publishing houses: Kalimat Group, Sidra Publishing and Distribution, DreamWorks, Asfoura, and Dar Al Thaqafa Publishing. Through this collaboration, the association provides these publishing houses with a valuable platform to broaden their marketing outreach, discover opportunities for selling and translating rights, and interact with industry experts to envision the future of publishing towards enriching the UAE’s publishing and translation landscape.
The association’s pavilion features a distinguished collection of the latest publications from creative minds in the UAE, encompassing literature, science, and knowledge. The collection includes a diverse array of books and comic stories tailored for children and young adults, spanning genres including early education, suspense, adventure, and science fiction. Moreover, novels delving into history, arts, and biographies, as well as books focusing on self-development, language arts, social sciences, and travel, cater to readers’ varied tastes and interests in the British capital.
Rashid Alkous, Executive Director of EPA , emphasised the association’s dedication to the London Book Fair, stating: “This annual international exhibition offers Emirati publishers a platform for immersive experiences and direct engagement with specialists in the publishing field. It enables rights, sales, and distribution negotiations across diverse print, audio, visual, and digital channels, contributing significantly to realising their ambitions of making a distinctive mark on the global publishing industry.”
Alkous emphasised the association’s efforts to identify cooperation opportunities in copyright and translation services and support participating publishers throughout the exhibition, including facilitating match-making sessions and arranging meetings with international publishers interested in exploring the UAE market. As one of the world’s largest book markets, the book fair presents a significant opportunity for publishers to connect with over 25,000 global specialists.
The EPA’s participation underscores its dedication to supporting Emirati publishers and enhancing their presence in the global publishing market, in line with its broader efforts to bolster the creative economy in the United Arab Emirates and promote Emirati literature on a global scale.
