Assets of public investment funds—both domestic and foreign—in Saudi Arabia’s capital market recorded year-on-year growth of 36.1% by the end of the third quarter of 2025, increasing by SAR 57.9 billion to reach approximately SAR 217.9 billion, compared to SAR 160.1 billion during the same period in 2024.

According to the Capital Market Authority’s quarterly statistical bulletin, assets also posted quarter-on-quarter growth of 5.7%, rising by SAR 11.7 billion from SAR 206.2 billion at the end of the second quarter of the year.

The number of subscribers to public investment funds reached 1,593,663, marking an annual increase of 1.5%, or more than 23,000 new subscribers, compared to the corresponding period last year.

This growth was primarily driven by an increase in domestic investment assets, which rose 39% year-on-year, adding SAR 52.4 billion to reach SAR 186.9 billion, accounting for approximately 86% of total fund assets.

Meanwhile, foreign investment assets grew by 21.1%, increasing by more than SAR 5 billion to reach SAR 31.1 billion, representing 14.3% of total assets.

The number of public investment funds also rose 11.6% annually, with an addition of 36 funds, bringing the total to 346 funds, compared to 310 funds in the same period last year.

Public investment fund assets were distributed across 12 investment categories, led by local money market transactions, valued at SAR 75.6 billion, representing 34.7% of total assets.
