"Civil Aviation Authority "grants" Red Sea International " the second seaplane license

The General Authority of Civil Aviation, the International Red Sea Company, has granted the operating license for the shibara island airstrip, which is the second airstrip in Saudi Arabia after the "umhat" airstrip, after meeting all the requirements of the executive regulations of the General Authority for Civil Aviation for aviation safety.

In the presence of the minister of transport and Logistics, chairman of the board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and His Excellency the president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-duailej, the executive vice president of aviation safety and environmental sustainability, captain Sulaiman bin Saleh al-muhaimidi, handed over the operating license of the helipad to the island of "shibara" today, the CEO of the "Red Sea International" Group, John Pagano, at the destination of the "Red Sea".
In a statement on this occasion, the chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation explained that the license handover comes within the framework of the continuous efforts exerted by the authority to contribute to creating an attractive environment for investment and provide all means of support, stressing that the authority adopts several initiatives and programs in accordance with the best international standards and practices within the objectives of the sector strategy and in line with the Saudi Vision 2030, including the projects of the "Red Sea" destination and "NEOM" projects, in addition to the authority's efforts to continue to ensure the highest levels of safety and quality in the aviation sector, consolidate the regulatory and supervisory role of the authority, and achieve regional leadership.
The CEO of "Red Sea International" Group, for his part, stressed that this license represents an important step towards the opening of the "shibara" resort soon, as the "fly Red Sea" flights will be launched to transport visitors to and from this unique resort, to have the opportunity to enjoy an exceptional experience. Pagano expressed his pride in the fact that "fly Red Sea" is the first seaplane operator in the Kingdom, and owns the first two licensed seaplanes to date, which strengthens the group's position as a leader in the tourism and aviation sectors in the kingdom.
It is noteworthy that the "Red Sea International" Company has established a specialized company to manage and operate airstrips and seaplanes under the name of "fly Red Sea" Company, where it is based at the "Red Sea International" Airport for its various operations.
The company has also conducted more than 520 flights to and from the water airport on amhat Island, and the company has transported more than 1,200 passengers during the first and second quarters of this year, and the company expects the number of passengers during 2024 to reach more than 3,800 passengers.
The company owns a fleet of Cessna Caravan (208 Cessna Caravan) single-engine aircraft, where the current number of aircraft is estimated at (4) aircraft, and the company aims to reach (22) aircraft by 2030.
