Edition Resort Opens on Shura Island: Sustainable Luxury on the Red Sea

The Red Sea Global company — developer of one of the world’s most ambitious regenerative tourism destinations — has announced the opening of the Edition Resort on Shura Island, marking the launch of the island’s first luxury hospitality landmark, which will begin welcoming guests in the coming weeks.

The resort features 240 accommodation units of various sizes and designs, along with two signature restaurants, two beverage lounges, and a fully equipped fitness center, offering a refined experience that blends luxury, marine nature, and sustainability.

Designed by the world-renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners under the “Coral Bloom” concept, Shura Island is the vibrant core of The Red Sea destination.
Shaped like a dolphin, the island’s design draws inspiration from the surrounding coral reefs, achieving seamless harmony with its natural environment.

All structures were built using lightweight, low-thermal-mass materials, minimizing environmental impact and maximizing energy efficiency. The island is powered entirely by renewable energy, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals for sustainability and economic diversification.
