Saudi Arabia Receives Official Expo Flag and Enters Execution Phase

Saudi Arabia has officially secured the final approval for its Expo 2030 Riyadh registration file during the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) held in Paris, marking the final stage in confirming the host nation for this global event.

During the ceremony, the Saudi delegation formally received the Expo flag, symbolizing the transition to the implementation phase and the Kingdom’s commitment to delivering a historic and transformative edition of the Expo.

The Saudi delegation was led by Eng. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Sultan, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, and Acting CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. The delegation included Saudi Ambassador to France Fahd bin Muayouf Al-Ruwaili, along with senior officials.

The assembly reviewed highlights from the comprehensive registration file, which showcases Saudi Arabia’s vision for hosting an exceptional Expo grounded in innovation, global collaboration, and sustainable development.

Al-Sultan extended his gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, emphasizing that the Kingdom’s swift file approval demonstrates its global credibility and leadership, and reflects the professionalism and readiness of its national teams.

Riyadh becomes the first city in Expo history to submit and complete its registration file in record time—half the usual duration, setting a new benchmark in Expo preparations.

This approval marks the official start of the next phase of preparations, including sending formal invitations to participating countries through diplomatic channels.
