King Salman Energy City announces the attraction of 3 billion dollars of investments before the completion of infrastructure

The executive director of the energy city for operation, the main operator of the King Salman Energy City "spark", Inas Al-Ashqar, said that the infrastructure of the city is nearing completion of its first phase, where it will be opened before the end of 2024.

She added that the percentage of completion in infrastructure exceeded 70%, including telecommunications networks, sewage, water and electricity, in addition to the road network within the city.

She explained that the basic buildings, which include a primary care center, an exhibition and an administrative building, will be completed during the first half of 2022, quoted by the newspaper "Riyadh".

Inas Al-Ashqar added that 41 Saudi and foreign companies have been approved to establish their facilities in King Salman Energy City so far, with a total investment of 3 billion dollars, and these investments will create 1,200 job opportunities for Saudi youth, whose companies have been allocated almost 90% of the industrial land in the first phase of "spark".

The executive director of the energy city for operation said that two foreign companies have already started their production cycle in the city of "Spark", and 7 additional companies will start the production phase during 2022.

She added that "spark" is successfully proceeding on promising steps to create 100 thousand jobs by 2035, and "Spark" will focus on small and medium-sized companies in the next stage, so that the competencies and national companies receive the total of those opportunities.

Inas Al-Ashqar revealed the commissioning of the first high-current electricity distribution station last December with a voltage of 380 KV, while two additional power distribution stations were commissioned last week with a voltage of 115 kV, with a third station to be commissioned in the coming days, where the total production capacity is estimated at 500 megawatts. She pointed to the start of work on the construction of the dry port, which will be completed in the first phase of the project within 48 months, stressing that the negotiations have reached the final stages with the logistics operator company, where the date of signing the contract and the establishment of the strategic partnership between it and "Spark" will be announced soon.

The executive director of the energy city for operation explained that "spark" will supply companies whose businesses depend on gas, through the completion of a natural gas network, to support their production, adding that Saudi Aramco signed a contract with a foreign company to allocate land with an area of one square kilometer to build ready-made factories for support services, so that it provides ready-made factories of about 6 different sizes.

She pointed out that the company is committed to providing all services to the tenants of its factories from raw materials as well as operating requirements, stressing that the company will begin the construction process in the coming weeks, explaining that the completion of the project will be in 48 months and within one stage.

She confirmed that the pace of project implementation exceeded the initial estimates, which estimated the completion of the first phase by five years, the second phase by another five years, and the third phase by the last five years, where the area of "Spark" is 50 square kilometers, noting that the works were completed before 2025 as initially planned.

Al-Ashqar pointed out that" spark " is in the midst of re-studying the preliminary engineering designs of the remaining stages of the city in order to plan the future more effectively, taking into account the reduction of environmental damage and carbon emissions, noting that the new engineering designs will set a more ambitious time limit compared to previous plans.

She added that the second phase of Spark city will begin as soon as the new engineering designs of the city are fully completed, which is expected to be completed during the first half of 2022, which includes modern data in the field of energy and smart cities, denying the existence of plans to enter nuclear energy in Spark city
